Release your inner insanity

February 13, 2011 at 1:26 pm (Ravings)

There is a fine line between sanity and lunacy and I sure do enjoy crossing it from time to time. What will be found on the other side, nobody knows! But whatever it is, it will surely bring a smile or two to myself and possibly those near to me. People really should let their inner maniac come out and play, because even caged pets deserve a nip of fresh air now and then.

I am a thinker, but I am not an over-thinker as one of my close friends who will remain anonymous. A clue is that he is known as “the fourth”. If you have seen the movie Yes with Jim Carrey, you must realize that there is truth in the plot of the movie. So many experiences can be had by just going against the little voice in your head that says “what if”. You should replace that annoying little voice with a smooth brittish voice that says “bloody hell mate, do It!”

This is a beautiful picture by an artist known as Sephiroths muse, and it always reminds me of Castlevania. But I never really understood why. daniel_blum_the_insane_vamp_by_sephiroths_muse1

“Rejoice!” Shouted the peasants as my lunacy slowly descended upon them.

Hate is easy, but love takes courage.

December 11, 2010 at 3:04 pm (Ravings)

Things I would rather do than hate people.

– Slap an angry tiger’s swollen scrotum.

– Take my eyes out with a silver spoon.

– Sell my kidneys to the lowest bidder.

This does not mean that I am incapable of feeling hatred, because I would slap the tiger’s scrotum if I really had to. It just means that I would rather spend my life feeling content with the world around me and let things go once in a while than spend energy on something as trivial as hate. Let’s make one thing clear. I am not talking about the type of hate you have for someone who probably deserves it. The type of person who enjoy spreading the hurt on others. This raving is focused on the hate people have for those who most likely did not do much to deserve it in the first place. There are many kinds of hate. We have the jealous type who hates people who have succeeded in life in one way or another, probably because this person succeeded in a field the hater himself has failed in. We have the paranoid type of hatred people spew on others when the hater takes something to personal or out of context, and we have the justified type which is a lot rarer than people are led to believe.

First of all, the world is not out to get you. If you feel insulted in some way due to another person’s actions, don’t take it to personal because most of the time there are other reasons beyond your control for these actions. Even if they were because of you on a personal level, confront them on it and afterwards, just let it slide. Trust me, you will feel a lot better once you have gotten it out of your system and then placed behind you. If you walk through life thinking less of the people around you, chances are that you will end up being a lot less cheerful than you would have been otherwise. The human body is capable of doing many things. But if history and science has taught us anything, it is that negative emotions break us down slowly but surely and have a tendency to spread like a disease. So for your own sake ,break the trend and be the bigger person. Focus your energy on something a lot less destructive and your body and mind will thank you for it.

As one of my dear friends said many years ago. “Don’t hate! Accelerate!”

Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’

February 5, 2010 at 2:11 pm (Ravings)

prepare yourselves for the biggest cliché you’ve heard in quite some time. Brace yourselves cause here it comes. “Life is to short.” That’s right, I said it cause it had to be said. Everyone has dreams, some are stranger than others. For instance, a friend of mine dreams of fighting huge spiders with friends, which I feel is unlikely.  but most are atleast humanly possible and these are the dreams you should hang on to. Ten years from now, would you be happy with the lifestyle you are going towards at the moment or would you like to live a different life?

People talk alot of what they want to do but they never actually do it. Most people spend their lives in the same location doing the same thing they have done since puberty, secretly wishing they lived someone elses life. Some are completely happy with this lifestyle and if so, this post is not for you. I just want to say that instead of dreaming of moving to California and working with the career of your choice, give it a try and see what happens. Worst comes to worst, you end up right where you have started. But you will always be an experience richer and you would no longer ask yourself the question “What if”.

Be friendly, but mean it.

December 30, 2009 at 6:47 pm (Ravings)

Those that know me know that I smile a substantial amount of my conscious time, and  and that I am an easy going hakuna matata kind of guy. Even so, there is one social rule that bothers me. The forced hello given by people  who don’t even know your name. I sure do enjoy meeting people that I care for, or cared for in the past in the streets. But if you are a former colleague who worked in the same workplace ages ago, but one I never spoke to besides the occasional hello in the hallways, don’t feel forced to give me that insincere smile and greeting five years later, because I don’t. If you on the other hand actually were happy to see an old colleague, come forward! I would love to speak with you as long as you were sincere about it.

People are so worried about what others might think that they sometimes forget that they in reality don’t actually care either. The social mask worn by most is only a burden to bear only if you let it be one. Be kind, open and friendly to others. But only if you really want to, otherwise it will just come out the wrong way and just make your self feel uncomfortable.

“The best of us can find happiness in misery”

June 14, 2009 at 3:43 pm (Ravings)

You know by now what my views on life are and that I do try to live as I teach. But certain periods in life are harder than others and it might be a hard thing to do just that. You may also feel like crashing and burning instead. Regardless, nothing is impossible as long as you have good faith in your own existence. If you keep your head forward and try to live in the moment, you will find yourself feeling stronger than if you look to the past. Some decisions in life will affect you, physically and emotionally and if you don’t feel them, you don’t have the heart necessary to make the best of every situation that may come up in the future. It is humbling to know that every person alive feels pain sometimes, but what that person does with that feeling differs greatly.

Stay focused and use whatever means necessary to carry through rough situations. Do not sit and think of them as the end of the world, because they rarely are and the sooner you come to realize that, the faster you will be back on your feet. My lesson to you today is the following. You must let yourself feel the weight of the world but at the same time, you must never let it weigh you down. You must stay strong.

In the end we are only human.

Live a little.

March 25, 2009 at 11:23 am (Ravings)

I saw a poem that I really liked so I figured I’d share it with you people. I have no idea who the poet is but he sure does speak the truth. He even made me want to write a poem or two. Who knows, I might even put them up on this blog of mine.

The person who risks nothing
does nothing
has nothing
is nothing
and becomes nothing
He may avoid suffering and sorrow
but he simply cannot
learn and feel
and change and grow
and love and live

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

March 20, 2009 at 11:19 pm (Ravings)

I do think people with no hobbies are loosing out on life. I and many others that share many interests have the joy of finding something interesting and fascinating to do with every free hour of our time. There is no such thing as a boring day and this is because we love many things, that can be shared with others or with none other than you. I’ve met several people that have no interests besides their friends and when they aren’t together, they get depressed or just plain bored. A friend of mine told me recently about a double-date he was on with his other friend. He asked his date what she enjoyed in life and she said “archeology, history, books” and the list went on and on. Now that is fascinating and have an endless fountain of joy for her when she wishes to spend time alone. It also makes her more interesting as a person. On the other side of the table, his friend asked his date the same question and she said “clothes, and make up”. The disappointment was obvious on his face, or so I’ve heard. Not really much to work with on your own with those hobbies is there! Ah well, for each their own.

I’ve also seen women who lives of their boyfriend, turning him into their own personal hobby, which is fine as long as they are happy. But they are missing out on so much. Recently, I’ve come to realize that interests are very important, for couples, friends and for themselves. Please people, get a hobby or two, maybe even five! Something to do besides leeching of other people for your own enjoyment. The day you sit on your ass and realize that your life has been the same boring routine day in and day out is the day you accept the fact that your life has been thrown away. Set your mind free and try new things because you never know what you might experience if you dare think outside the box.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Farzan Timewalker, the time traveling Timelord

February 19, 2009 at 7:56 pm (Ravings)

If the sun picked up a hat, started dancing and decided to explode like a big piñata while we looked towards its direction, we would not know it for quite some time because it would take the light 8,31 minutes to travel the distance and actually show us the beautiful, yet deadly show. If the sun did happen to explode in front of us, my first thought would be “Wow, that actually happened 8 minutes ago”. Followed closely by “oh crap”, and then death. But that’s not the point of my ravings. Even at our level, the light needs time to travel from the computer screen to your eyes even though the distance is minimal and nearly instanteneous. The keayword here is nearly. This actually means that no matter how hard you try, you can never see the present. Every event that you see with your eyes has been, and will always be in the past. It has already happened and that basically means that you live in your own world. Only a fraction of a second i can’t even imagine, behind the actual events of the true world, the present world.

Here is another thought for you… If our senses were so evolved that we could actually follow the light as it moved and if the light moved in a slower pace, you would actually “feel” the snowball hit you straight in the face before you saw it leave the throwers hands. Now try dodging that one! Boxing would have an entirely new meaning. It would basically be a game of guessing, with fists.

So here I am… Farzan Timewalker. Fear me and my powerful sight of the not so distant past.

A fool with valid reasons is still a fool.

January 7, 2009 at 5:27 am (Ravings)

The difference between a moron and a smart man is that a smart man learns from his mistakes whilst a moron repeats them over and over again. People change, there is no helping it. Some people tend to learn from their experiences and in turn become better as a person. But then there are others who choose to repeat their mistakes without learning a thing untill someone else comes and picks up the pieces. Now isn’t that how our society is built? The smart ones could be seen as the pillars of society holding everything up, with morons standing on top as dead weight. When the morons outnumber the pillars, that is when our society will crumble. I wish it was as easy as pointing fingers to decide who is considered smart or foolish, but most often, a fool is a fool thanks to experiences in life. But with all things considered, a fool with valid reasons is still a fool.

But then again, maybe I am just overthinking things.

Is beauty existent if nobody is there to enjoy it?

October 12, 2008 at 1:09 am (Ravings, This is my life)

Anna inspired me to write about beauty after reading her writings. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which means that what may be beautiful for one person may not be for another. Beauty that speaks to me is the kind of beauty that says “I may not be pretty or perfect, but I am beautiful”. It is the kind of beauty that differs from the norm. People that dare to express themselves in ways that put them emotionally vulnerable are beautiful to me. Society has developed a culture where those that differ from the social rules are frowned upon, but these are the people that fascinate me the most. People that dare think outside the box and show the world what they truly feel inside.

There are billions of planets in the known universe and the distance is so vast it is hard to fathom with the human mind. An endless amount of solarsystems, moons, and planets are in existense all over the universe. But what would happen if us humans were extinct? There would be nobody alive to appreciate the complexity and beauty of the universe. Sure, there may be intelligent life elsewere, but not in our galaxy. The earth, sun, and other planets in the milky way would just exist forever, changing form and doing unimaginable feats without anyone there to see and absorb it’s beauty.

This picture is created by the deviant artist called Trixis. I love her pictures and I find them truly beautiful. If this picture speaks to you, i recommend visiting her website to see other paintings of this caliber. “Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them.” So if we disappeared, beauty would disappear with us.

Alas, I am a creature of the night.

October 8, 2008 at 3:51 pm (Ravings, This is my life)

Start mr drama // I am a creature of the night and I bathe in darkness, the lack of sun during the day makes you cherish the pitch black sky during the night, and the silence will make your mind go mad if you let it. I love the stars in the sky and being alone with my thoughts makes my mind wander in ways the day cannot bring. Staying up late every night sustains me and gives me strength for the upcoming day. // End mr drama

Basically… I love the night. It gives me the creative edge I need to put things in writing or learn a new skill. I love the day as long as the temperature is hot enough to make you boil slowly inside and the sun is shining. But living where I live, that only happens about two months per year. That is why I have come to rely so much on the night instead.

Personally, I think that I am just two blows to the head away from trying to suck someones blood for survival. But then again, I have been wrong before.
