Demons run when a good man goes to war.

June 15, 2011 at 3:50 pm (Poetry)

I heard this poem earlier today and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Imagine the conviction it must take for a good man to go to war.

Demons run when a good man goes to war.
Night will fall and drown the sun, When a good man goes to war.
Friendship dies and true love lies,
Night will fall and the dark will rise, When a good man goes to war.

Demons run but count the cost.
The battle’s won, but the child is lost.

They say the darndest things.

December 27, 2010 at 4:05 pm (Poetry)

I’m not crazy doc, not all the time
I do have my moments of serenity
They just come and go as they please
Don’t worry
You are completely fine, the doctor says.

I hear voices in my head now and then
But I think that they might be my thoughts
Everybody has thoughts do they not?
Don’t worry
You are completely fine, the doctor says.

Does it matter that the voices sound strange
I sure think not! I am just imaginative
At least that is what they keep telling me
Don’t worry
You are completely fine, the doctor says

I told myself today I’m not mad anymore
The voices said that neither were they
They even brought a new friend today
Don’t worry
You are completely fine, the doctor says

Muse

April 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm (Poetry, This is my life)

O splendid muse to mine own heart so dear
whose charm and wit would would haunt me still
My greatest wish is to haveth you near
and keep you warm and away from chill

You’re flowing red hair reflects your heart
your smile, your warmth and role
I shall touch and feel every part
of my muse, her body, mind and soul

thou ask me why I find you rare
an answer no poem can tell
yet thine presence enthralls the very air
as if caught in a mighty wizards spell

yet there are to few words to describe my muse
and no art or melody will do
but of all the world it’s you I choose
I want, I need to hold true
